Pediatric OPD Services (OPD)
An outpatient department or outpatient clinic which provides primary assessment, diagnosis and treatment for various pediatric illnesses of children of age group 0 day to 18 years. These children can be managed at home with pediatrician advice without hospitalization.
Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
It is the area specializing in care of critically ill children of age group of 30 days to 18 years. These children require serious consideration and urgent management like ventilatory support, oxygen therapy, dialysis, pain management and post-operative care, whether in medical, surgical or trauma related field. Very few centers in India have this kind of dedicated tertiary care facilities.
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
It is the area that specializes solely in the treatment of sick or premature newborns. It has specialized equipments like warmer, incubator, ventilator, phototherapy unit etc. Here babies get around-the-clock care from the team of specialized medical staff & doctors.
